Bio

Cheri Augustine Flake is The Stress Therapist.

Cheri believes that creating healthy habits is the key to getting better at stress and happy living and has made this belief the focus of her private practice. In a high energy and engaging style, Cheri teaches her clients, workshop attendees and readers how to work on establishing long-term change and healthy habits without stress, procrastination or excuses. The result is that clients not only generate motivation, but are able to sustain it for the long-term. This philosophy of teaching as many people as she can how to make the goals of their life the habits of everyday living has given Cheri a reputation of being an expert in not only stress relief, meditation, motivation and habit formation, but also stopping procrastination and avoiding failed New Year’s Resolutions.

Cheri believes that a regular practice of meditation can be a game changer. “The science is there…it’s about as good for you as water. But ain’t it the darnedest thing!? Everyone seems to want to do it every day, but barely any of us actually do.” It is Cheri’s life mission to not only teach as many people as she can this invaluable and life-changing practice, but also to show how it can become a part of your everyday living…without added stress, procrastination or excuses.

With Cheri as your guide, gone are the pressures to understand meditative theories, traditions, or religious ideologies. Guesswork, wondering if you’re “doing it right” or finding yourself in intimidating settings is over. You will learn why meditation is important and enough about what exactly is happening in your brain during deep mediation to help you replicate and improve your practice in order to reap the amazing benefits that it all has to offer.

“Once you have mastered staying motivated, and have a good understanding about how your brain works to help you meet your goals, you can begin the fun, rewarding work of making the tasks toward your goals habitual. When something has become a habit, you don’t think about it or ruminate about it anymore. It’s just a part of who you are. This means that you are working on whatever you want to change and however you want to grow every single day, while honoring your true self.”

“When we are consistently doing whatever makes our hearts sing, we are happier and our lives are so much more fulfilling and this is what every one of us wants…I believe we were created to feel this contentment and peace so I have made it my life’s mission to spread the word on how to get a little joy into our lives; simply and for good.”

Cheri is frequently asked to be an expert guest on stress and meditation for media interviews and TV spots. The TV show, Atlanta and Company often invites Cheri to be a guest on their show that airs weekdays on 11Alive.

As a mother of two small children, Cheri understands firsthand how stressful and hard it can be to live your life and be a mom. Cheri believes that performing, recording and touring for thirteen years with Atlanta pop band 13 Stories, prior to becoming a mom, actually helped prepare her for her journey into motherhood and in being a helping professional in her community. To the benefit of her clientele and for all busy professionals and parents, she has specialized in helping them achieve the balance they want to strike in career, family, and personal goals and dream fulfillment.

A frequent writer on topics pertaining to her practice, in 2016 Cheri released her book entitled,

“Honey Do to Honey DONE!:

A Simple System for a Productive and Happy Household with Absolutely No More Nagging!”

Cheri’s forthcoming book is entitled:

Meditation…WTF?

10 Methods. 30 Days. A Life-Long Habit.
