feel good or badIs it possible that everything is exactly the way it’s supposed to be? That regret is just a big waste of time and energy simply because we don’t believe that the universe is working for us? Can it be? Could every inconvenience and straight up bummer be…destiny?

Things don’t go exactly how we want them to…in fact, they rarely do. I know someone who pretty much lives by the philosophy that if life doesn’t go just as planned, this is a perfectly good reason to be super cranky and angry. Doesn’t this imply that we somehow always know what’s best? That we can predict how everything is gonna go down? That, perhaps, we think we are experts on what should happen and how??

As life goes on, it’s quite obvious that we don’t, we can’t and we aren’t.

Plus, how many instances can you think of right now where you were super upset or disappointed somehow and it turned out in the end that it really was all for the best?

Personally, some of my biggest blows in life have been my greatest blessing. Once, I got a fax from my employer on a Friday, telling me we were closed on Monday…Forever! I thought it was the end of the world and it turned out to be the beginning of a whole new and wonderful world for me. Would I have opened my private practice if this “horror” hadn’t occurred???

Sometimes we can’t possibly see how something “bad” could really be something “good.” My question is, do we need to know? Or, can we assume for our own sanity, stress levels and happiness that everything is how it “should” be…to trust the Universe and ourselves that it’s all good?

Most importantly, how does regret, fear, sadness and disappointment feel? If you can turn it around quickly and get yourself feeling good, isn’t that really the name of the game in bringing more good into your life? Even if all this sounds like goofy nonsense, can you choose to feel good rather than feel bad?

I decided after numerous instances like the one above, that disappointment is a big waste of time, as it had been so many times before. Now, I assume that something big and wonderful must be about to happen. I do this for my health, my ability to create my destiny and so I can simply feel good…not bad. And, most of the time, I’m right!

Try it. The next time you’re super late, lose a document that you worked on for hours, or even lose a job, try re-framing the thought. How does it feel when you decide just for a moment, to think this new way?

The bottom line is, whether you think this is all hokey or not, I think we can agree that it feels better to feel good than it does to feel bad. Feeling bad brings stress, dis-ease and more. What if you could harness this tool and really get good at turning around your thinking?

I think you’d be a little happier. I think you’d be a lot less stressed and a little more open to how the “hows” in your life will come to be.

I knew that I wanted to open my own practice. But, how?

I let the Universe decide for me now.

Much love and light,
Cheri
